FTMO vs FundedNext vs FundingPips: How to Compare Rules

FTMO, FundedNext and FundingPips should not be compared by payout, price or pass-rate headlines alone. Their public materials describe evaluation or simulated environments, but rule sets, models, jurisdictions, limits and effective dates can differ. The useful comparison is a single due-diligence checklist placed next to your own trading plan.

The common point to understand first

FTMO says its accounts are demo accounts with fictitious funds. FundedNext’s CFD Challenge Terms describe a simulated evaluation environment, and FundingPips describes its accounts as demo/simulated. A “funded” label, reward or account size does not by itself create a personal brokerage account or guaranteed income.

A seven-point comparison framework

Area What to compare
Model type Read the exact one-step, two-step or instant model and stage.
Risk limits Balance/equity, floating P&L, daily/max loss and reset time.
Consistency Formula, applicable stage and consequence of exceeding it.
Trading conduct News, EAs, copying, IP/VPN, latency, weekend and hedging.
Rewards Conditions, KYC, fees and reasons payment can be adjusted or denied.
Legal/region Entity, availability, terms and complaint route.
Updates Source URL, version and the date you checked it.

What cannot be concluded generally

A firm offering weekend holding in one model does not establish that every model, account or later stage permits it. A loss-limit figure has no practical meaning until you know whether it is balance- or equity-based, includes floating P&L and costs, and resets in which time zone. Compare current terms, not community screenshots.

Choose without letting marketing lead

  1. Write the strategy requirements first: frequency, news, overnight exposure, average stop and losing streak.
  2. Remove models that conflict with those requirements.
  3. Read terms and calculate a safety margin instead of using all available headroom.
  4. Demo/forward-test the workflow before paying an evaluation fee.
